The FitBit Charge is a great little device for monitoring your daily activities and movements. A lot of these monitoring is done by syncing over Bluetooth with the FitBit application for your Android or iOS device.
Not every FitBit device has a screen that let’s you see your stats without the app but the charge and charge HR versions do possess a screen. The FitBit flex however does not. Regardless of the fact that a screen may or may not be present it can be incredibly frustrating when your device refuses to sync with the mobile application. Maybe you want to see your stats for the days past, or you want to get that trophy for the work week hustle you got into with your friends. Whatever the reason maybe, it is incredibly pointless having a FitBit if it won’t sync and show you your stats so today we are going to talk about how you can get your FitBit – – or more specifically, your FitBit charge to sync again.
The usual suspect is the Bluetooth, the application will ask you to turn off your Bluetooth and then turn it back on. If this doesn’t work the application will proceed to tell you to disable call notifications and or restart your phone.
In many cases the above trouble shoot will work and in many other cases it would not. In my own experience however none of the above listed solutions worked, I even tried deleting and reinstalling the application but that failed too. Not until I figured out how to restart the FitBit device itself. Every FitBit device is very different in this regard – – find below how I restarted my FitBit charge.
- Plug the device to its USB charger and ofcourse plug the USB end into a power outlet or a computer.
- Hold down the button on the left side of the device for about 10 -12 seconds until you get see the FitBit logo and a version number. (e.g V30)
- Let go of the button.
- Unplug the device from the charger.
At this point you will see your customized welcome message and then you can try to sync again. I can almost guarantee this as a last resort will definitely work – – I have no reason to believe otherwise, it worked for me just fine.
