How To Fade Off Dark Spots

Dark spots can be extremely unpleasant especially when they are present on the face, arms and legs, generally areas often exposed to sunlight. Dark spots are often painless and are caused by hyperpigmentation which occurs when a part of the skin is damaged leading to excessive melanin formation, sun burns, disorders of the liver, hormonal imbalance, use of low quality skin products etc. Sometimes, pregnancy and stress can cause appearance of dark spots on the skin. Most common cosmetic products do not totally clear dark spots, they only cover them up for a while leaving them to resurface after a few months. 1. LEMON JUICE:

Lemon, because of its low pH level, has some lightening and anti-bacterial properties. Therefore, lemon juice can be used to fade dark spots on any part of the skin. Squeeze out some lemon juice and apply directly to the dark spots. If you have a sensitive skin, mix with water and apply. You should begin to see results after a few days.

2. OATS:

Oats is known to be an active ingredient in facial scrubs, body lotions and soaps. This is because it has fantastic lightening and exfoliating properties. Oatmeal is also used to treat dark spots.

Make a thick oatmeal, forming a paste. Rub on affected areas. This method may get really messy. Rinse away after it has dried. You could do this twice in a week.

3. POTATO:

The skin enhancing effects of potato helps in clearing the blemishes on our skin. Potato is one readily available vegetable and can be used to fade out dark spots.
Place potato peel slices on the area where the dark spots are present and leave for few minutes. Also, you can grate the potato to form a paste and apply to your face as a face mask if you have dark spots present there. Rinse off after 15 minutes.

4. TOMATO:

Tomato is enriched with vitamins and antioxidants that help greatly in cleansing the skin.
Apply tomato juice to the dark spots and leave for few minutes. Rinse off afterwards. It also controls oily skin, acts as a moisturizer and leaves your skin glowing.

5. ONION JUICE:

Onion possesses exfoliating and bleaching properties. It therefore, can be used in this case to lighten the dark spots. Slice a red onion and rub on the areas that are affected. You can leave it in without washing off.
