Like Siri and Google Now, the recently released Cortana, is the super smart personal assistant on Windows phones. It’s features include voice commands, setting a reminder, location search, weather forecasts, music search, etc. You can even have Cortana call you by your name! Cortana is only available on Windows phones with the Windows 8.1 software.
Also, it is region-specific, therefore, Windows phone users outside the United States cannot have access to Cortana. Windows phone users outside this region deserve to enjoy the awesome features of Cortana. Of course, the QWT team would always share with you solutions to these little issues and this one is not an exception. Here it goes:
- Slide down from the top of your screen to open your notification center.
- Tap on ‘All Settings’.
- Select ‘Language’.
- Click on ‘Add Language’ and activate English (United States). Make sure it is enabled. This would require your phone to reboot.
- Also, go to ‘Region’ on your settings list and change your region to United States. This would also require a phone reboot.
- After the phone reboot, you should see Cortana as the first application on your application list. Tap on it, finish the set up and you’re ready to go!
In all, to enable Cortana, you have to change your phone language and region to United States. It’s that simple. I hope this was helpful. If you have any questions about How To Enable Cortana Outside The United States please leave a comment in the comments section below.
